Earl Mountbatten Hospice Personal Care Team

Would you like to help care for frail people in their own homes during the last year of life? 

If so, we are looking for kind, compassionate and experienced people to join our dynamic and developing team of domiciliary carers who look after people who are dying in their own homes. We offer an induction and bespoke training which is underpinned by our mission, vision and our values. Initially, you will work as part of our committed bank of carers and will have the opportunity to work flexibly across all of the care services across the Hospice. This may be during the day or overnight. Our intention is to grow this service as quickly as possible. Excellent hourly rates and travel expenses apply.

Some experience of working in the Community would be an advantage. Car driver with access to a vehicle essential.

Housekeeping (casual worker)

We are looking for Housekeeping casual staff to join our ‘bank’ list to support our existing team by providing cover for sickness, annual leave and periods of high service demand.  There will be no set hours (as you will be covering for our existing staff); therefore the work will be under a Casual Worker Agreement. 
 
Housekeeping experience is required ideally within a clinical environment.
 
You will be expected to work to the standards required by the hospice including infection control (training will be provided).

Donation and Distribution Centre Team Leader

Are you organised, enthusiastic and have great attention to detail? Previous managerial experience is essential as is a real commitment to recruiting and working with volunteers who are the backbone
of our retail business.
Flexibility and good people skills are required to lead our mixed team of staff and volunteers sorting donations and preparing them for sale in our shops across the Island. This is a permanent full time position based at our Donation and Distribution Centre in Newport.

Spiritual Care Lead

Full Time Permanent Contract
(37.5 hours per week plus On Call)
 
FTE – Agenda for Change Band 6 (depending on experience)

Earl Mountbatten Hospice is looking for an experienced Spiritual Care Lead, ideally with a healthcare background, to support the pastoral and spiritual care of patients, carers, staff and volunteers across the hospice, including our local community.
 
Closely partnering with local faith leaders and colleagues of all disciplines, you will be responsible for optimising the pastoral and spiritual wellbeing of everyone who uses our services, and of our staff and volunteers. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and highly developed self-awareness and be capable of managing emotionally charged situations with sensitivity.
 
You will lead and develop our spiritual care service, including leading and managing volunteers, engaging the interests and meeting the needs of patients, families and carers of all backgrounds and beliefs. You will work as a core part of the multi-disciplinary team, and enjoy teaching.
 
The ability to participate in weekend working and the out of hours’ on-call rota is essential.  Candidates should be car owners and hold a valid UK driving licence.
