Admin Support Officer

37.5 hours per week – permanent contract
Salary £16,655.40 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced administrator to join our admin support team supporting the Head of Community Services and the Community Team. 

We are looking for a friendly, dynamic and flexible individual who will provide general administration support, including the processing of referrals, inputting data into our electronic patient records, answering incoming calls and preparing meeting agendas and minutes. 

You will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal and customer care skills to enable you to deal with difficult conversations in a professional and friendly manner, as you will have interaction with patients and families during difficult times.
 
You must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. You will have the ability to use your own initiative and enjoy learning new skills, be self-motivated, have good people skills.

Bank Housekeepers

 Rate of Pay – £7.50 per hour

Bank Contract – including evenings and weekends

Our housekeepers work within all areas of the hospice providing a cleaning and laundry service to the 16 bedded in-patient unit and provide general cleaning services to our day services and offices.
 
We are looking for Bank Housekeepers who are hardworking, able and willing to clean to a high standard. You also need the care and understanding to work with and around our patients, their visitors and our staff.
 
Previous experience in a similar role is essential and preferably within a health care setting with knowledge of infection control procedures.
 
Our Bank Housekeepers have no set hours of work, but are called upon to help out during times of staff shortages.  Various shifts are available and the team work any day of the week.

 Clinical Psychologist

Band 7 (AfC)
37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a highly motivated Psychologist to join our Psychology and Bereavement Service here at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
 
As a member of our team you will be contributing to the development of our psychology and bereavement services for adults and children, delivering a range of interventions to support families affected by life threatening illness across the lifespan, in the form of individual therapy and group sessions.   
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering teaching to other professionals, liaising with organisations such as schools and mental health services. 
 
You will be a qualified psychologist with the required recognised professional qualification and have experience of working within a health care setting.  You will have experience of working with children and adults, and understand the impact of illness on individual’s and their families and be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.   You will be able to support patients facing the end of their lives and bereaved families.  You will be able to use Microsoft and be IT literate.  You will operate a flexible approach to your working hours to support the needs of the service.
 
Additionally you will have a keen interest in working within palliative care and bereavement services.

Palliative Clinical Nurse Specialist

Community Team  
 

Salary £31,696 - £41,787 (AfC Band 7 equivalent)

37.5 hours per week
Including weekend and on-call provisions
 
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and motivated Palliative Clinical Nurse Specialist with experience in palliative and end of life care to join our Community Team.
 
You will have the opportunity of working in a friendly team dedicated to providing a high quality service, whilst also working autonomously.  You will play a key role in the delivery of nurse led palliative and end of life care for our patients and their families.  You will work closely with family members, staff and external partners and agencies across the Island. 
 
You will participate in a rota providing a seven day week working service including weekends, bank holidays in the hospital and community setting and be part of the on call Out of Hours rota.   
 
You must hold a minimum first level registration with NMC, hold a relevant degree in health or nursing studies and have experience of dealing with palliative end of life care patients. You will be expected to work towards your master’s level within specialist practice. 
 
You will need to demonstrate clinical expertise within the field of palliative care as well as excellent communication skills and experience of teaching in a clinical setting. It is essential that the applicant is a car driver with access to their own car and has a clean driving licence.

Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist

Earl Mountbatten Palliative Care – based at St Mary’s Hospital

Salary £26,565 - £35,577 (AfC Band 6 equivalent)
37.5 hours per week – including weekends

 
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse with a genuine interest in palliative and end of life care, along with a commitment to continuous learning, team work and mutual support. The post holder will work directly in clinical areas and alongside the ward based teams to support the palliative and end of life care needs of patients including symptom management; psychological care; rehabilitation and preferred place of care.
 
You will need to demonstrate clinical expertise within the field of palliative and end of life care as well as excellent communication skills and experience of teaching in a clinical setting. You will be required to work flexibly which will include shift work in the clinical setting, inclusive of weekends/nights and bank holidays. You may also be required to support on-call services.

Inpatient Unit and Community Nurses

If you have ever wondered what it was like to care for patients in the Hospice setting or at home then this is the ideal opportunity for you.  We have vacancies for qualified Nurses to join our as Bank Nurses working within our Inpatient Unit and Clinical team based in the Community.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates, who can demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, to work within our busy teams. These roles are offered on a fixed term Apprentice Agreement, for up to18 months.
 

Health Care Apprentice

Based in the John Cheverton Centre at the main Hospice site in Newport, you will work with our clinical care teams carrying out a wide range of duties to support you achieving a level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Qualification. You will be supervised and mentored by higher trained, experienced and committed staff to care for our day care and respite patients. You will also have the opportunity to work on the ward and with our community teams. This post will be supported by the Isle of Wight College.
